Homelessness Prevention Program

Description

Through the Homelessness Prevention Program, UESF assists individuals and families in rental housing and those residing in emergency and transitional housing facilities.  If eligible, payment for rental arrearages and/or future rental payments may be made. Funds may also be used for security deposit and moving/storage costs.  Linkages to other needed services including housing counseling, basic money management, credit repair, legal services, child and family in-home supportive services, and behavioural health programs are identified and established. 

 

 

 

To be considered for assistance, an individual/family must:

 

  Be a Philadelphia resident;

  Currently reside in an unsubsidized housing unit (private market apartment/home);

  Be at risk for homelessness, be a victim of domestic violence, or live in a rental unit that is unfit for habitation;

  Have a court ordered eviction notice;

  Be able to sustain monthly housing expenses with current income

  Have a household income at or below 30% of the area median income which is:

 

 

 

 

Maximum amounts of assistance available

Eligible families may receive up to $2,500 of financial assistance.
