Through a generous grant from the Homeless Assistance Fund, Inc. (HAFI), UESF is assisting current shelter and transitional housing residents to secure permanent housing by providing funds for move-in expenses including first and last month’s rent, security deposits and past utility arrearages.  In addition to providing this one-time monetary assistance, UESF provides Self-Sufficiency Workshops to these individuals, beginning with a session on Housing Rights & Responsibilities, and also provides monthly follow-up for a 12-month period---all to ensure ongoing housing stability.
