"I cried myself to sleep at night wondering how I was going to feed my kids during Spring break, Christmas, and Summer vacation because they were going to be home all day and suddenly I had to come up with three meals a day instead of just breakfast and dinner. Energy assistance kept my electricity on, helping to alleviate one of the many problems I faced while living below the poverty level."

How You Can Help
Adopt A Family
For a small donation, $250, you can help a low income family maintain utility service throughout the harsh winter months. This donation is sent directly to UESF. Please visit our Adopt A Family page for further information.
Matching Energy Assistance Fund (MEAF)
PECO Energy has an automatic donation fund for area customers. Yearly, utility customers are
asked to pledge a donation amount to be added to the monthly bill payment.
DollarPlus
The Philadelphia Gas Works DollarPlus program is similar to the MEAF program, however, the
designated amount is $1.00 which you voluntarily add to the bill payment each month.
PWD Bill Stuffer
Each year the Philadelphia Water Department asks for a general contribution through bill stuffer
solicitations.
General Support
Any amount you give is welcomed. Remember each donation is matched by one of the utility
companies and paid directly to a family's utility account. No donations are used for administrative
costs.
United Way
UESF is a designated Donor Option. Our Donor Option number is 04702.
Combined Federal Campaign
UESF is a designated donor option. Our number is 9237.
Remember, all donations are tax deductible and are matched dollar-for-dollar by our
three participating utility companies.
